Black Violet Capital is an organization focused on investing in color. Our diverse team is committed to leveraging resources and expertise to transform communities through their entrepreneurship and private equity.


Since 2021, Black Violet Capital has invested over $1M in diverse founders and startups looking to bridge the equity and representation gap. These startups exist across multiple industries, sectors, and stages.

Black Violet Capital is comprised of a team of three partners with diverse backgrounds and industry experience, who are all connected through their mission. Our expertise lies in specifically in healthcare, fintech, SAAS, and real estate private equity.

Black Violet Capital targets high-growth opportunities in early stage companies spanning multiple verticals in venture. We also target short-term real estate private equity opportunities in the northeastern United States.

Team

Our team is extremely passionate about democratizing access to private equity and equally active in combatting racism and discriminatory practices. With intimate experience dealing with the struggles that Black and Brown founders and small business owners face in securing funding, we decided to pool our resources and expertise to tackle this problem, and Black Violet Capital was born.

Bradley Aka

An experienced biotechnologist with clinical experience across multiple therapeutic areas. His investment expertise lies in techbio, biotechnology, and real estate private equity. Bradley is currently pursuing his MBA at Wharton where he is developing theses at the intersection of technology, healthcare, and biology. See some of his work here.

Marcus Desir

An engineer working in software testing and QA over the past 6 years. He spent the first 5 years of his career in the aerospace and defense industry, but has recently transitioned into the tech space working with emerging technologies. Marcus currently lives in San Diego but originally comes from New York where he attended NYU Tandon School of Engineering.

Tyler Benjamin

A highly accomplished agile product leader with significant experience with Saas and organizations creating and scaling digital products. He has worked with LinkedIn, Idealist, Healthfirst, American Express, and Goldman Sachs. Tyler currently serves as Product Manager at Syndio and Product Advisor to a few NYC startups. A graduate of NYU Gallatin, he continues to live in New York.
